After many hours of use in the field I can say the durability of this box has been outstanding. The plastic is very clear and easy to see through, it closes very snugly, has a place to label it and is molded to be stackable. It feels premium but not quite Yeti premium despite the fact they’re charging Yeti prices.
What they’re trying to do with the latch is clever. They want folks to be able to use it one-handed easily and get a secure, lengthwise clamp. And it works MOST of the time and is quite handy and innovative but SOME of the times it just doesn’t lift evenly when you grab it anywhere but the middle and you end up fumbling with the thing and wishing you had the old latches that just work a hundred percent of the time.
If their engineers can get the problem sorted out with proper field testing I do think these can eventually be worth the very premium prices they’re asking.
I’m also astonished they’re not making all of these truly modular like Milwaukee does with its Edge line. It would be useful as heck for the user, it captures them into your brand’s ecosystem, encourages further purchases and add a lot of value with minimal engineering changes. Be the first to market. People will gobble it up if you work social media properly.
Cool product, though! I’ll be keeping an eye on its progress.
