    Weak

I thought this would be a convenient storage solution for line spools in my boat that I might then easily grab to bring inside the house for mornings for tying rigs over coffee. However, it’s proven disappointing in two ways. First, I don’t know that the line feeder holes will prove useful. Perhaps keeping rubber bands on the individual spools will help going forward, but line tends to fall off the spools and is then loose in the box (and the lines usually work their way back into the box as they are not retained in the holes). The line feeders are a nifty idea, but so far the box is merely storage because I find it necessary to always open the box to grab the line of choice, pealing off enough line from the loose spool as I always have before eventually returning the spool to the Plano box. The round grommet should be redesigned, maybe as a teardrop to secure the line better. Anyway, the real problem is less about design shortcomings than the flimsiness of the plastic. In decades of Plano boxes, I’ve never had one break, and I’m kinda compulsive anyway and tend not to break my stuff (occasional rod tip excluded). But somehow on the car ride to the lake, the brand new box shattered at its corner before even being put to use! Granted, I just placed casualty it in a box of other items in my car, so it’s not like I wrapped it in bubble wrap and treated it like fine China. But as a piece of fishing gear, I expected more and wouldn’t have purchased it if I’d known it…
